Album: Written Roads (coming out October 8!)
Myspace: myspace.com/bombshelltrio
The vibe: Indie folk-rock mixed with a little R&B. Very Dixie Chicks meets Indigo Girls.
Why you should listen: These three gorgeous girls wrote most of the songs on their new album themselves! Their original sound was dubbed "cosmo country" — a blend of city pop with folk. Love it!
Our fave songs: Give a Little Take a Little, Wrong from the Start

They competed first, and they really rocked the house. My friends didn't get in because they sold out the Fillmore. They're more like Beyonce or any of the other singers today who "sing" than a lot of the bands that just crank up the boom-boom-boom sound and repeat, repeat, repeat. They actually sing, with a melody and all. I thought their band was really cool too, because they had a violinist, and they were the only band that had a black musician (what's up with that?). They didn't win, but if you listened to the crown you would have thought that they should have. But its always weird I guess when you have judges whose music is different than what they are judging I think, so Fefe Dobson isnt exactly the best judge for pure music. Anyway, I haven't gotten their CD, but did think they were uber cool in person and really pretty. Monday, September 14, 2009 at 09:04:33 PM | Report Abuse

If you'd like to read more about this group you can visit my blog ( http://www.kimmg.wordpress.com) where I have published a more complete review.
