Jefferson and Adams had dark-sides but gosh they were smart…compare them to bush or kennedy or romney, and you get a bleak picture. Agree or disagree with his politics, Obama at least has the intellect of our brightest forefathers.

Obama is smart. Definitely smarter than Bush. No question. But I am not sure if he has the temerity to do the things that we need that maybe unpopular.

Proud to be an American living in Philadelphia, where all these historic places are within walking distance and FREE to enjoy. For a more realistic, human (and fun) understanding of the people and events surrounding that 1st week in July, watch a movie called "1776", a MUSICAL based on David McCullough's book.

thomas jefferson and john adams spoke several languages each. Does obama? Hell no! I speak three and am a janitor, which before this job was a corrections officer, of which I spent 30 years. Many, many inmates speak well, as obama does, but does not mean they are brilliant! I was sorry to hear that david mccullough, has great admiration for obama. He hesitated inordinately, when asked by fareed zacareah about obama. I still like him though! obama cannot even be compared to the likes of jefferson and adams, who as myself speak more than two languages…

Great historian! Sad he doesn't acknowledge Spain as an important ally that helped America win the war! Not just France! Spain!
