BIG BIRD: Oh hi. I’m cleaning up around
my nest. Yeah, I just have to put this
stuff away in my toy box, and everything will be
as neat as– ANNOUNCER: It’s time to play
Journey to Ernie where Ernie hides and Big Bird seeks. BIG BIRD: Oh boy, Journey
to Ernie. I wonder where Ernie’s
going to hide today. ERNIE: You’ll see. Duckie paddle, ha ha. BIG BIRD: Whoa. Quick. Count to 10, and no peeking. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Ready or not, here we come. Whoa. I have a feeling we’re not
on Sesame Street anymore. In fact, I know we’re not. We’re at the beach. I wonder where Ernie
could be hiding. RADIO: This is WSAND coming to
you live from the beach. When it comes to the beach,
we know where it’s at. BIG BIRD: Oh, do you know
where Ernie’s at? RADIO: No, but we can
give you a clue. He’s hiding under something. BIG BIRD: He’s hiding
under something. Let’s go look. See anything? Aha. There’s somebody under
that beach towel. I’ll bet it’s Ernie. Come out from under
that towel, Ernie. We got you. You’re not Ernie. CRAB: No, but don’t be
crappy about it. BIG BIRD: Oh, where could
that Ernie be? RADIO: Don’t throw in
the towel because here’s another clue. He’s hiding under something
and over something. BIG BIRD: Under and over? How does he do that? RADIO: Very carefully. Now keep looking. BIG BIRD: OK. Ernie is under something
and over something. Look, that hammock is hanging
under the palm tree and over that beach ball. That’s it. Ernie must be in the hammock. Found you, Ernie. Come on out. Oh no, it’s a seal. SEAL: You’re barking
up the wrong tree. [BARKING] BIG BIRD: Come on. Ernie must be here somewhere. MEN: [SINGING] BIG BIRD: Excuse me. MEN: What, what what, what? BIG BIRD: Did you see Ernie? MEN: Ernie, yeah! BIG BIRD: Which way did he go? MEN: Hm. [GASP] Hm. [GASP] Hm. [GASP] That way. [SINGING] BIG BIRD: Let’s keep looking. I don’t see Ernie anywhere,
do you? What could be be hiding
under and over? RADIO: Don’t give up the ship
’cause here’s another clue. He’s hiding under something,
and over something, and in something. BIG BIRD: Under, over,
in something? How can he do that? [SNICKERING] BIG BIRD: Wait. That sounded like
Ernie’s laugh. Ah, it’s coming from
the water. That’s it. Ernie’s under the water
and in a submarine. But what are you over, Ernie? ERNIE: I’m over a dolphin
named Charlie. Come on up here, Charlie. BIG BIRD: We found him! We found Ernie! ERNIE: Da dum! Thanks, Charlie. BIG BIRD: [SINGING] It’s Ernie. ERNIE: It’s me. BIG BIRD: I’d know
you anywhere. The– ERNIE: [LAUGH] BIG BIRD: –when you laugh,
that Ernie shirt and hair. The squeaking of your duckie
tells us you’re the one. We found him, we found him,
la, la, la, la, la. TOGETHER: Our journey
to Ernie is done. ERNIE: Wait till you see
where I hide next time. BIG BIRD: Ooh. [SQUEAKING] ERNIE: Right, you too, you
little duckie, you.

    In the Journey to Ernie segments, Big Bird was played by Matt Vogel – Caroll Spinney's understudy for the character.

    Why Sesame Street would have The Two Headed Monster be part of The Journey To Ernie sketches especially that they never once teamed up with The Original Ernie nor The Original Big Bird during the Jim Henson years? I have no idea.

    The only thing funny about these segments was when the two headed monsters come up. Everything else is a little dull.
