One thing people say to us that after going back to their country from India they had whole different appreciation for their own country .India is so diverse and overpopulated that it's really hard to get things done on time .So fellow tourists those who want to come India keep in mind that "patience is the key to solve every problem here".

Very well done, thanks for this thoughtful video. Also, I dare Americans to sometimes just pay what something is worth to you, without getting upset over what amounts to 1 or 2 dollars. Make people smile and throw down, you'll have a great time!

He's so right like there are scammers in India like any other country but best thing is if you'll just ask for help from locals they'll help you you just have to ask to 2-3 people to help and many will do everything to make sure youre fine

These problems which faced are becuase of cheap traveling, travel cheap but same time travel smart . Now days tuk tuk and Uber Ola at same prices almost. Walking on roads are not as in Canada or European nations becuase of population her especially in big cities and you as a foreign traveler travel in big cities like Delhi Mumbai Jaipur where already too much crowd. Train stations are not like your country becuase in india train is cheapest mean of traveling as we have all kind of reservations in trains most of them are cheaper for long distance where you will found a huge crowd.

India is a country where you can find your desire facility via how much you spend money. You can book the online train ticket from IRCTC website without the need of any Indian ID number; in short, anybody can reserve a ticket online.ย  For local transportation, you can use Uber, Ola, Zuganu(it's tuk-tuk app).

My simple advice to travelers – if you come expect the ease of doing things the way you are used to, why travel at all?
The ability to take things as they come is very important part of leading happy lives.

Maybe because you are not a woman so your chance of getting raped or molested is much less of an issue? Lol. I'd like to hear from a female tourist. I've heard enough of personal account of female tourists being groped or worse. The issue surrounding India is less of theft but more of a woman's safety over there. You are lucky nothing worse has happened to you YET. Also you can almost passed off as a fair skin Indian than a western foreigner, so that prob makes you less of a target if you don't open that mouth of yours.

you raised a very good point about trying to do things and getting nowhere. That pretty much is how things go about in India vs the western world. People in general do not value others' time, for eg. your experience at the train station or even with the rickshaw puller.

Beware of tourist destination and Hotel charge here in India because on seeing foreigners like you they increase the prices and as US dollars and Canadian dollars are more powerful than INR so they would try to scam you this is an advice of an Indian to always bargain

I'm another Canadian traveler. In my late 60's now… Still traveling.I used to travel with a 45 liter bag (ailines made me check it)… then downsized to a 35 liter bag..(allowed to carry it on) … Now with a small 21 litre Minaal Daily pack. One bag, carry on, minimalist travel. Feel so free and easy carrying so little. ย
I found the same experience as you… when I was in northern Thailand (four months) and in Cambodia. (two months… followed by four days back in Thailand in Bangkok) . Just go with the flow. Don't have a schedule… take things and delays as they come.. and relax. It's all part of the experience…. know patience. Feel free….. You should go back to Sarnath if you get a chance. I became Buddhist.. and in 2020 traveling to India and Nepal… To Lumbini, Bohd Gaya, Sarnath, Kushinigar… and some other Buddhist pilgrimage places… then to Sri Lanka and back to Cambodia.

Hii.. i travel by trains at least once a month.. and I've never booked tickets at counter bcoz that's very hectic… I always buy tickets online.. all u need is just one account.. and book tickets anytime anywhere…
Never try go to station and buy tickets there.. it's too difficult and too time taking.. instead spend 5 mins to sign up on website.. and enjoy the ride..

You need to have a sharp and focused mind when you are out if you want to do things in time, you'll obviously get frustrated, and talk to people from india online make some friends who'll help you out with how to travel here, because it's not very tough, but not very easy too if you ain't familiar with how to work shit out, good for you that most indian know understand and talk in English very well

Going back to India in few months, Canada is beautiful but lonely . In India any random person starts chatting somehow never feel alone but here … no one actually interested in convocations just do your stuff and go to bed .. sometimes feels like with time i may need some depression pills. India is not perfect but alive people love or hate but some how communicate .. sometimes when there is too much system for everything its kind of boring. Machine give tickets or you may have pass no need to ask for directions google maps do that for you why????

As an Indian I feel I need to apologize for your bad experience and appreciate your honest words and speaking positives about my country.
Tuktuk, Rikshaw & Tourist Guides guys can sometimes be annoying charging you more as you are a tourist. It also happens with domestic tourists. They always figure out you are a tourist even if one is a Indian from another state. For foreign tourist I would suggest perfer a Taxi if you have to do things within a time. Local people will always guide you not to pay more. You can take tuktuk or Rickshaw ride when you have plenty time. There may be few people here trying to take unnecessary advantage but lot more to help you.

You have to be tough with them when they behave like children. Force them to pay attention to you when they refuse to. Yell at them when they do dumb things, but don't get angry.
Also you are male, so India is not dangerous for you. Women need to be far more causious.
