I really enjoyed this video. We did a day trip to Nikko from Tokyo in 2014 but we did none of the things you presented. We probably need to visit again. Good job as always.

Hey Paolo, where is the private onsen @6:00? Do you have to be a guest of the hotel to use it or can you go there as a walk in guest?

Kinagawa Plaza Hotel – The rooms that have their own onsen, are these the rooms that say "Private Open-Air Bath" or the ones that say "With Spa Bath"?

Sorry, may I ask at which station you arrived? I didn't hear you say Nikko station. I have a JR pass so I was thinking of following this route to Nikko as it is fully operated by JR, do you recommend it as well? Thanks!
Take JR Tohoku Shinkansen (from Tokyo or Ueno Station) to Utsunomiya Station and transfer to the JR Nikko Line to Nikko station.

Hi Paolo, the private onsen is really nice! Is the private onsen under Kinugawa Hotel management? Is it allowed for outside guests come to this onsen? I'm planning on going to Nikko but will be staying in Nikko Station Hotel.

At first I thought you were as ugly as sin, but you do a very good video, and I fell in love with the Edo Wonderland, particularly how they bowed when you walked past dressed as a lord! You looked tall and majestic, no wonder. They all looked so exactly like the old paintings you see where you think how strange they looked. Excellent videos, good tips, so well done, and your soft voice and kind manner won me over.

Paolo, regarding the onset (sorry, the word spell does not let me to write the word properly…). I got tattoos while serving with Spaniards Paratroopers. (In that time it was almost compulsory to get a tattoo while serving with an special Unit). Since I am from Spain and my tattoos have nothing to do with Japanese Culture, should I be allowed to get into a public on sen ? My thanks in advance.

Great video! Ccan you please confirm that the onsen (that you can reserve for a couple) is part of the Kinugawa Plaza Hotel. That looks like a huge hotel; the onsen you visited looked secluded. Thanks.

Nikki was absolutely worth a trip from Tokyo. Most Western visitors don’t seem to know about it. That might be a good thing considering the detrimental effects of mass tourism in places like Iceland, Venice, Dubrovnik, etc.

A few days ago, I saw the news that more than the standard level of radioactivity was detected in a park in Tokyo. So it's crazy to eat and relax there. I still think Japan's radiation levels are serious. It's been 30 years since the Chernobyl incident, and there's still a lot of radiation in Chernobyl. So I wanted to go to the Olympics, but I gave up.

Nice video. I visited Nikko last July, but I stayed at Nikko Station Hotel 2 (the cheaper one.). I really enjoyed Edo Wonderland. I didn’t go down the river, but I walked past the river from the station to Eco Wonderland in 90 degree sunny weather. So many gorgeous temples.
