Hello everyone . Today is Monday , 19th of August I’m going to the BYURAKAN OBSERVATORY I’m going to the BYURAKAN OBSERVATORY located at an elevation of 1405 m above sea level, on the slope of Mount Aragats in the village of Byurakan in Armenia , some 40 km Northwest to Yerevan located at an elevation of 1405 m above sea level, on the slope of Mount Aragats in the village of Byurakan in Armenia , some 40 km Northwest to Yerevan The observatory was founded in 1946 .
It has approximately area of 40 hectares. There are 11 telescopes in the observatory. Founder and first director the Observatory Viktor Hambardzumyan The BAO 1m Schmidt telescope is one of the largest Schmidt-type telescopes in the world and one of the most efficient astronomical telescopes in general.     Armenia is a beautiful country with a great landscape mixture – rolling hills, mountains, beautiful valleys, steep gorges and plains. It is rich on history with many interesting sights Yerevan is a great city.
